A hoard of jewellery worth more than £11,000 has been stolen during a break-in at a house, police said.
The detached property, in Murrayshall Road, Scone, was broken into some time between midday on Sunday and 8.30pm on Monday.
The stolen items included a platinum diamond eternity ring, a 22-carat gold diamond ring, a chrome Omega watch and a 24-carat gold necklace.
A sapphire and diamond gold band, a rose gold wedding band, a gold charm bracelet and a gold rope bracelet were also taken.
Tayside Police said they are keen to trace a cold caller who was seen in the area last week.
He is described as being in his early 20s, between 5ft 8in to 6ft 2in tall with a slim build and light coloured hair. He may have been wearing a yellow jacket.
Detectives said there have been similar incidents in Comrie, Auchterarder and Madderty, and have not ruled out the possibility that they are linked.
At the weekend, a secluded property in Fortingall, near Aberfeldy, was targeted and more than £1000 was stolen.
A police spokesman said: "We would ask householders to be vigilant and keep an eye out for any suspicious activity or people in the area where they live. In particular, we would ask them to be alert to people arriving unannounced at their door, or at the door of neighbours.
"It is possible it could be bogus callers seeking out potential targets. If someone arrives at your door unannounced and is looking to gain access to your home, do not let them in.
"Ensure that doors are secure, even when at home and if you have a door chain - use it. Never let anyone in your home until you are certain of who they are, or who they claim to represent.
"If suspicions remain, close the door and check with the company the caller claims to represent. Do not take the number from the person on the doorstep, but instead check the phone directory or Yellow Pages.
"Beyond that, if a householder remains suspicious they should not let the person in and should contact the police."
