A weather warning has been issued for large parts of Scotland as freezing rain and ice grips the country.
Freezing temperatures on Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday are expected to cause icy conditions across road and pavements.
The Met Office has issued the warning for most of the country, including the Glasgow area, Lothians, Perthshire and Angus.
It said motorists should take extra care as conditions will be "extremely hazardous, particularly where roads are untreated".
Sean Batty, STV weatherman, said: "Conditions have remained around freezing across much of central, southern and east of scotland today.
"Much milder air and rain was moving into the north west of the country in the afternoon and is set to move south and east during Wednesday night.
"Road temperatures across much of Scotland will be around freezing during the evening and night as the rain moves in with icy conditions developing and creating hazardous driving conditions.
"Conditions could be treacherous in places on Thursday morning before getting milder."
Some of the areas at highest risk from icy conditions are Angus, Perthshire, Stirlingshire, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Borders, Fife and parts of the Lothians.
