A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a pensioner in her own home.
Kathleen Milward was found dead at her home in Lanarkshire at around 8.30pm on January 3.
Garry Kane, who is believed to be Mrs Milward's grandson, has been arrested in connection with her death.
Police announced more than a week after her body was found that they were treating the death of 87-year-old Mrs Milward in Stonehouse, near Larkhall, as suspicious.
Kane appeared in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murdering Mrs Milward.
The 40-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Kane, from Motherwell, will return to court later this month.
