A father has been convicted of the murder of his four-month-old daughter for the second time.
Craig Jamieson, 32, was found guilty of killing Abbie following a retrial. He fatally injured the baby at their home in Dumbarton Road, in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow.
Jamieson, of Knightswood, Glasgow, was charged with killing his daughter by inflicting blunt force trauma to her head and body leaving the girl so severely injured she died at Yorkhill Hospital on February 8, 2008.
In April 2010 Jamieson was sentenced to life imprisonment for Abbie's murder following his conviction after trial, with a minimum period of 16 years.
A year later his conviction was overturned by the Appeal Court on the grounds that the trial judge had misdirected the jury in the case.
Earlier in the trial the child's mother Nichola Haddock said she met Jamieson at a Glasgow bar in 2004 after moving to the city from Belfast to start a university degree in social work.
The mother told the court how she raced home from university to help her sick child.
She said: "I got into the flat and went straight into the living room. I called Abbie to say that I was home. Her chair was pointed towards the TV. She was quite pale and her eyes were staring into space.
"When I lifted her, her whole body went back. I screamed and fell to the floor on my knees. Craig called an ambulance. I was still holding her at that stage."
John Dunn, area procurator fiscal for Glasgow and Strathclyde, said: "Craig Jamieson's conviction for the brutal murder of his infant daughter Abbie demonstrates the commitment of the Crown to ensure that those who are guilty of murder and other serious offences against children will not escape justice."
