Scotland needs a party which can stand up to the "excesses" of nationalism and socialism, according to the Conservatives.
With less than 72 hours until the polls open, David Mundell, MP and Scotland Office Minister, was campaigning in Dumfries.
According to Mr Mundell, Tory leader Annabel Goldie is the only leader prepared to "stand up and tell it like it is".
He said: "The people will decide the balance of the next parliament and decide what the balance of power and influence will be at Holyrood.
"No one party will have a majority.
"People don't have to vote for a party they don't like to stop another party they like even less. They can vote for what they want.
"Scottish politics needs somebody who will stand up to the excesses of nationalism and socialism. That somebody is Annabel.
"Today, Alex Salmond has tried to claim independence is not one of his top three priorities. What nonsense - the SNP exists to rip Scotland out of Britain.
"Only Annabel and the Scottish Conservatives will stand up against the SNP's separation plans.
"Labour has wobbled on an independence bill, the Lib Dems are wobbling on an independence bill, only Annabel and the Scottish Conservatives are resolute in our opposition to an independence bill."
He added that with more Conservative MSPs, Ms Goldie can deliver even more "common sense" in the next parliament.
