Police are concerned for the safety of a woman seen in a car in the Grange area of Edinburgh on Wednesday.
The woman was seen in the back of a blue or dark blue four-door hatchback at the traffic lights at the junction Causewayside and Salisbury Place about 7.25pm.
She was drawing attention to herself, and Lothian and Borders Police want to confirm she was not in need of help.
The car drove off into Salisbury Place.
The woman is described as being in her 50s. She was wearing a dark headscarf with pink flowers on it that was tied under her chin, a dark red coat and thick-framed round glasses.
The man who was driving the car is described as being white, of medium build, in his 40s or 50s with medium-length grey hair. He was wearing glasses and a dark blue or black jacket.
A police spokesperson said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the description of the two people in the car, as we want to establish the woman was not seeking any help when attracting the attention of the general public."
Anyone with information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131.
