Dundee hit by flash flooding as torrential rain lashes city Several streets in Dundee city centre had to be closed on Tuesday after heavy rain caused flash floods in the area.

Seagate, Commercial Street and Trades Lane were all shut after torrential rain throughout the morning caused chaos.

Flooding also hit roads in the Lochee area of the city.

However, all roads in the affected area reopened around lunchtime.

Tayside Fire and Rescue told STV News that the Job Centre in the city's Gellatly Street had to be evacuated earlier due to the flooding.

A severe weather warning is in operation across the Tayside region.
