A Polish driver crashed his car while three times over the drink drive limit - landing on top of huge boulders.
Michal Orlowski, 28, was driving his vehicle along a road in Aberdeen's altens industrial estate it left the road.
The smash happened on a street leading to treacherous cliff tops towering above the sea in nearby Cove.
Orlowski, admitted drink driving on April 5 this year when he appeared at the city's sheriff court.
Fiscal depute Felicity Primrose said: "It was ten past 4 on the Monday afternoon. The accused was driving up to a shop and was seen by staff there to stumble getting out of the car and was unsteady on his feet.
"Witnesses had concerns about his ability to drive. When the police came across the vehicle, he had been involved in a one-vehicle collision.
"The accused's wife had contacted the police because he had not returned home. He had phoned his wife at around 4:30pm to advise he had been in an accident."
The court heard Orlowski left the scene but did not return home until around 7:30pm. He admitted to police that he had been driving the car.
His reading was 117 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the drink drive limit is 35mcg - when breathalysed by police. Sheriff Graeme Buchanan described it as a "very high reading".
Orlowski admitted drink driving and failing to stop to give his details after a road accident. His not guilty plea to damaging a car and fence was accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until later this month.
