A body that was discovered on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh on Sunday night is being taken off the hill by police and a Search and Rescue team.
At around 10pm on Sunday night a walker on the hill alerted the police that they had found a body in a remote area. Police investigated and confirmed a short time later that it was a body, but were unable to remove it from the hillside immediately because of the inaccessibility of the area it was found.
Lothian and Borders Police are currently recovering the body from the hillside, with the assistance of a specialist team from Tweed Valley Search and Rescue .
It has not yet been established whether the body is of a man or of a woman and there were no reports of anyone getting into difficulty on the hill.
The operation to recover the body from the hillside is stil ongoing.
