A 19-year-old woman who died after a crash in Aberdeenshire has been named.
Grampian Police named the victim of the fatal road crash as 19-year-old Laura Thomas from Rosehearty in Fraserburgh.
The accident happened on the A981 road between Memsie and Strichen, near Memsie, late on Saturday night.
Miss Thomas was killed after she was driving a black Ford Ka, heading north. It was involved in the collision with a silver Renault Megane, heading the other way.
The four passengers were seriously injured.
The road was closed overnight as police examined the scene.
Tributes
On Miss Thomas' social networking site there have been warm tributes paid to her. One said: "canna believe this has happened, keep smiling and laughing cause i know you made me smile and laugh everytime i saw u"
Another said: "I will never forget our laughs we used t hae n the spinnys we went for. U were like my wee sister then and u will always mean a lot to me. Sleep well beautiful. See you again someday. Love xx"
