The body of a man has been discovered on Montrose beach, police said on Wednesday.
The discovery was made at around 6.30am by a dog walker, who immediately contacted police.
Officers attended at the beach and found the body around 500 yards from the Royal Montrose Golf Club.
The dead man is believed to be aged in his mid to late 50's.
Enquiries are under way to establish the man's identity.
A Tayside Police spokeswoman said there are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
