A young woman has died after a car she was a passenger in careered into the side of a house in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to the A937 Laurencekirk to Montrose road at 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old, who was travelling in a black Vauxhall Corsa, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The 18-year-old driver of the car was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but did not suffer any serious injuries.
Grampian Police said the house was unoccupied at the time and suffered some structural damage.
Inspector Ian Kirkwood said: "Collision investigators have examined the scene and witnesses are being seen by road policing officers and from that we hope to piece together what actually happened.
"We know that the black Vauxhall Corsa, which had distinctive white alloy wheels, had been in Montrose prior to the collision and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen that car travelling from Montrose towards Laurencekirk to get in touch with us."
The A937 was closed between Laurencekirk and Marykirk for around five hours.
