Police have warned of the dangers of children playing in and around schools during the holidays after a 13-year-old-boy was injured after falling through a school roof.
The incident happened at Deerpark Primary School, Sauchie, on Wednesday when the boy fell through a sky light and was escaped with a minor injury.
Sauchie Community Officer, Constable Forbes Wilson, said: "On this occasion the injuries were not as serious as they could have been, but the next time someone may not be so lucky. These roof structures are not designed to be walked on and while it may seem like fun to climb all over them, it can quickly turn into a tragedy.
"As well as posing a major threat of injury to themselves, these youths run the risk of being held liable for criminal damage to these buildings and those responsible may well end up with criminal charges and a conviction.
"The summer holidays are a fun time for children and we want them to enjoy themselves. But we also want them to stay safe. Children playing on buildings has not just been a problem at Deerpark Primary School, we have also had these issues at Forth Valley College and Craigbank Primary School, as well as elsewhere in Clackmannanshire."
Constable Wilson added: "When children go out to play with friends parents should know where they are going, who with and what they will be doing.
"If anybody sees any groups of children congregating or committing any acts of anti-social behaviour in or around schools or buildings in the area, including climbing on roofs, then think of the danger and please contact police immediately."
