Messages of support flooded in on Twitter for Andy Murray after his historic win at the US Open tennis championship in New York.
The 25-year-old Scot was congratulated by sporting stars across the globe including golf world number one Rory McIlroy, six-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy, boxer David Haye and F1 driver Jenson Button. He was also congratulated by his older brother Jamie Murray and former tennis world number one Andre Agassi.
Murray beat Novak Djokovic in an epic five-set battle which lasted nearly five hours.
His supporters at Flushing Meadows in New York included Sean Connery and Sir Alex Ferguson.
