Couple attack: Teenager in court over Paisley incident

A teenager has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a couple were attacked in their own home in Paisley.

Ian Michie, 16, of Fullarton Street, Paisley, is alleged to have assaulted Johannes Alder, 37, in Saucelhill Terrace, on July 23 by repeatedly stabbing him on the head and body with a knife or similar instrument and attempting to murder him, while acting along with another.

It is claimed he also assaulted Elizabeth Alder, 38, by stabbing her on the arm to her injury.

Michie is accused of breaking into the couple's property and stealing two rings, a wallet and its contents, an iPod, a packet of tablets and five knives.

He is also alleged to have forced open a vehicle in the town's Ardgowan Street on the same date and steal a satellite navigation system.

When Michie appeared in chambers represented by defence agent John McElroy, he made no plea or declaration.

He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Colin Pettigrew who continued the case against him for further examination
