Two people onboard a yacht which had lost engine power have been rescued by the Peterhead lifeboat crew.
The Palourde was originally being towed by the Vete Rata on Saturday night but it was struggling against the tide.
The RNLI were alerted shortly before 10pm, when the stricken yacht was four nautical miles south east of the town.
The lifeboat took over the tow at around 10.15pm and arrived into Peterhead Marina at 11.30pm.
The RNLI say the sea conditions were calm and visibility was good during the rescue.
The man and woman onboard the yacht were uninjured.
The Peterhead lifeboat crew says this has been their second rescue in three days.
