Health service advice workers have been disciplined for accessing inappropriate websites, it was revealed on Monday.
Seven NHS 24 staff in Scotland were suspended and given formal warnings in May and June for accessing websites.
NHS 24 said patient safety was "not compromised" at any time.
Dr George Crooks, medical director of NHS 24, said: "NHS 24 operates an extremely robust internet use policy, including the monitoring of all internet access for the organisation.
"Staff are unable to access blocked internet sites during working time.
"Following a breach of these rules last month, a small number of staff were suspended. Patient safety was not compromised at any time and NHS 24 has now completed the formal process.
"The breaches did not relate to online gambling sites."
NHS 24 provides healthcare information and advice.
