Two held as police seize cash, jewellery and art in double raid

A man and a woman have been detained after police seized more than £10,000 in cash and a haul of jewellery and artwork.

Strathclyde Police raided two properties, a house in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, and a business premises in Charing Cross, Glasgow, on Thursday.

A man aged 55 and a 47-year-old woman were held under Proceeds of Crime legislation.

Police said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
