Teenage girl fighting for life and two injured after car careered off road

A teenager is fighting for her life after a car she was travelling in careered off a road.

The 17-year-old girl sustained serious chest injuries and is currently in a critical condition in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police said the 34-year-old man who was driving the Honda Civic suffered a serious neck injury in the smash on the A83 Campbeltown road near Tarbert on Monday night.

He is being treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is described as being in a stable condition.

A 33-year-old woman, who was also in the car, sustained serious neck and leg injuries, for which she is receiving treatment for in Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital.

Police said the smash occurred on the A83 close to the B8024 turn off at around 8.25pm. As a result of the collision, the road was closed for several hours.
