An airman killed in an accident over the Moray Firth involving two Tornado aircraft has been laid to rest.
Squadron Leader Sam Bailey, 36, was one of three airmen who died in the accident last month.
Flight Lieutenant Adam Saunders and Flight Lieutenant Hywel Poole were also killed.
A fourth airman is still recovering from his injuries.
Following the service at St Gerardine’s Church, Lossiemouth on Tuesday, Station Commander, Group Captain Iain Gale said: "Squadron Leader Sam Bailey was a kind and clever man who was devoted to the Royal Air Force. He was a very talented instructor and we all miss him very much indeed.
"He had been a member of a military family and the local community here in Lossiemouth, and as we have seen today from the number and variety of people who are paying their respect the very deep affection in which he is held in this community.
"We will focus now on supporting the family and doing what we can to make today the fitting occasion it is and pay our respects to him."
An RAF Tornado low flypast will take place over their Lossiemouth base in tribute on Tuesday afternoon.
