A robber was caught after eagle-eyed residents snapped him on a mobile phone breaking into a flat in Glasgow.
Ross Barrett was found with a laptop stuffed down the waistband of his trousers following the raid in April this year.
Police swooped after being shown a picture of a man launching stones at windows of a flat in Firpark Close in Glasgow's Dennistoun.
Barrett, who claimed to have a "sketchy" recollection of the offence, was jailed for a year after admitting to the break-in.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the 29 year-old was seen acting suspiciously outside the property on the afternoon of April 7. He smashed his way into the flat before escaping with a £500 laptop.
However, the thief was unaware he had been snapped by neighbours, who quickly called the police. Drug-fuelled Barrett was soon arrested as he headed towards his home in nearby Rosemount Street, Royston.
Rhona Lynch, defending, said Barrett was "deeply regretful" and had a "fairly sketchy" memory of what happened.
Sheriff Martin Jones QC told Barrett he would have been given 18 months had it not been for his guilty plea.
