Adventurer set to water-ski across Loch Ness

Loch Ness: Mr Davis was inspired by Christine Bleakley's crossing of the English channel.

An adventurer is to do a monster water-ski challenge along the length of Loch Ness.

Tim Davis will be the first person to attempt the record-breaking 23-mile crossing.

Tim, who regularly does fundraising events, said it would be the biggest challenge of his life.

The dad-of-four will attempt to water-ski Loch Ness from Lairgmore to Fort Augustus next month.

Tim said: "The response I've had from people has been absolutely fantastic.

"There's a lot of people wishing me the very best and what's keeping me going through the gruelling training is the thought we may be able to make an impact on the lives of young people who rely on Sense Scotland for support."

The Monster Ski is in aid of the charity which supports people with communication support needs because of deafness, blindness, sensory impairment, learning and physical disabilities.

The challenge is the first in a series of events that Tim's undertaking in a bid to raise more than 7000 for the organisation.

He was inspired to attempt the crossing after seeing TV personality Christine Bleakley water-skied across the English channel for charity earlier this year and is now in full training to get ready for the cold waters of Loch Ness.

Tim said: " I was watching TV one evening and saw Christine's attempt to cross the channel and thought to myself I want to give that a go here in Loch Ness, one of the most famous stretches of water in the world."
