Sitting MP Mike Weir has been re-elected to represent Angus, an office he has held since 2001. The area is a marginal battleground, but has been held by the SNP in recent decades.
The Tories had hopes of capturing this seat, and the battle between Mr Weir and Conservative candidate Alberto Costa was tense at times.
Mr Weir was returned with 39.57% of total votes, an increase of 5.91% on the 2005 General Election figures. He increased his majority over the second placed Tories.
60.39% of the electorate went to the polls, a decrease of 0.07% from 2005.

The Conservative's Alberto Costa polled in second with 30.92% of votes, an increase of 1.46% from 2005.
A large rural constituency, Angus takes in the towns of Brechin, Forfar and Kirrimuir but also includes the coastal towns of Arbroath and Montrose.
