Soldiers from The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 Scots) are among those who have been honoured in the latest MoD awards list.

Around 150 servicemen and women, many of whom served in Afghanistan have been recognised on the latest Operational Honours list.

The Black Watch was instrumental in last summer's Operation Panther's Claw, which was the biggest offensive push against the Taliban that had been carried out.

The Inverness-based soldiers swapped their barracks in Fort George for Camp Roberts in Kandahar for the 7 month tour, returning in October 2009.

The list of recipients includes eight who are honoured posthumously, the highest number since the Second World War.

Scots soldier Sergeant Sean Binnie, 22, who was killed in a fire fight with the Taliban was one of those honoured - receiving a Mention in Dispatches (MiD) award.
