Murder charge: Tragic victim Mary McLaren
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Dundee mother-of-three Mary McLaren.
Patrick Rae, 40, from Arbroath, appeared on a petition alleging two charges at Dundee Sheriff Court. He was charged with murdering 34-year-old Mary, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Rae made no plea or declaration during a brief private hearing. He was remanded in custody and will appear again in a week's time.
Mary went missing in the early hours of Thursday February 25. She had been on a night out at the city's Fat Sams nightclub with her sister.
Her body was found in undergrowth near Dundee's Ladywell Roundabout two weeks later.
