An elderly woman who died in a flat fire in Aberdeen has been named by police.
Joan Ross, 66, was pulled by fire crews from the first floor blaze in Hilton Drive on Tuesday evening but she died shortly later in hospital as a result of her injuries.
It was later revealed that the building’s fire alarms were not working.
The victim was the only person in the flat at the time of the incident.
Grampian Police are not treating the fire as suspicious, however enquiries are ongoing with Grampian Fire and Rescue Service.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
