A 27-year-old man is due to appear in court on Wednesday following an alleged shooting incident at an Edinburgh pub.

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged shooting incident at an Edinburgh pub.

The shooting occurred in the Jock's Lodge pub on London Road, Edinburgh, close to the Meadowbank Sports Centre, at around 8.30pm on Sunday.

The 24-year-old male victim was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition was initially described as "serious but stable".

He was treated for wounds to his legs before later being released.

No-one else was injured as a result of the shooting.

Police sealed off the bar to allow forensic teams to investigate the scene on Monday.

Forensic officers in white suits were searching bins in the area and a police firearms dog was called out to search for the gun.

The 27-year-old who has been charged in relation with the incident is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
