A woman was knocked unconscious when the portable toilet she was using was pushed over by youths.

The 27-year-old was in the cabin at the Mill Street entrance to Colliston Park in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway at around 10.45pm on Saturday.

The portable toilet was toppled over by a group of youths and she was knocked out.

Passer-bys rescued her and took her to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she was checked over before being discharged.

A civic day took place in Colliston Park on Saturday with a host of events before fireworks in the evening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses as they want to speak to the youths. There is no description available.
