A man is in a serious condition in hospital after falling through the roof of a garage in Edinburgh after being chased by police.
An ambulance was called to Edinburgh Motor Caravans Centre, part of Tynecastle Garage on Gorgie Road at around 9.35pm on Sunday.
The man had severe injuries to his head and torso and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is in a serious condition.
It is thought he had been involved in a disturbance at Robertson’s Bar earlier the same evening. Officers had been chasing him through a number of gardens before he jumped onto the roof of the building to escape.
Lothian and Borders Police said an investigation is under way.
A spokeswoman said: "Lothian and Borders Police can confirm that an investigation is under way after a man fell through the roof of a building on Gorgie Rd, Edinburgh around 9.35pm on Sunday evening.
"The man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with severe head and torso injuries, and is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
"The man is believed to have been involved in a disturbance in the evening at a licensed premise on Gorgie Road. Enquiries are currently at an early stage."
