A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a grandmother in Glasgow.
Strathclyde Police launched an investigation after the body of 63-year-old Hannah Smith was found in her fourth floor flat in Soutra Place in the Cranhill area of the city.
Officers had forced their way into the flat on Monday after being contacted by a worried relative, who had not been able to contact the widow since Christmas Day.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death of Hannah Smith."
Relatives are aware of the arrest and a full report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal, the police spokesman added.
