The First Minister is scheduled to speak alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger at the climate change summit in Copenhagen
Mr Salmond will take part in an opening "commitment session" in the Danish capital alongside the Terminator star, who is now governor of California.
He will also sign a joint statement in Copenhagen with the president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, to highlight Scotland's climate change targets and help the island archipelago become the world's first "carbon-neutral country".
On Monday night Mr Salmond addressed energy and political leaders from self-governing nations and regions including Catalonia, Quebec and Manitoba, at Scotland's Low Carbon Mission event.
He said Scotland has the technological expertise and natural resources to play a key role in tackling climate change.
Mr Salmond is being joined in Copenhagen this week by Scottish Climate Change Minister Stewart Stevenson.
Scottish ministers are not part of the UK delegation and will not be involved in the summit negotiations.
