The devastated grandparents of a teenager who died of a heroin overdose say drug dealers are “scum of the earth” as they come to terms with their loss.

Gail Blake's body was found lying in a house round the corner from where she lived with her grandparents in the Whitfield area of Dundee last Friday.

The 16-year-old started dabbling with drugs last summer.

Heroin death must not be in vain says gran

She will be buried on Monday.

Her gran, Gail Johnston, said she had ambitions of a career singing on the stage, but now hopes Gail’s tragic death will act as a warning to others.

She said: "She wanted to be a singer and a dancer - she was just a lovely girl. She was full of fun.

"I just don't know how we are going to get through her funeral on Monday.

"I just think that the people who sell the kids these drugs are the scum of the earth.

"The more people who shop them to the police, the better to get them off the streets."

A terrible thing indeed, when alex salmond makes this country independent, i hope he brings in a death penalty for drug dealers.
