Strathclyde Police will launch their festive safety campaign on Thursday in Glasgow city centre.
Over the next few weeks, officers from Scotland’s largest police force will remind revellers, shoppers and drivers to be vigilant, look after themselves and their property, and not to drink and drive.
Radio adverts, posters, social networking sites and Bluetooth technology will amongst the initiatives used by the police.
The campaign runs from November 14 to December 23.
High visibility police officers will be patrolling the city centre day and night to crackdown on various aspects of criminal behaviour, in particular shoplifting and street crime.
Speaking ahead of the launch, newly appointed commander for Glasgow City Centre and West Division, Chief Superintendent Bernard Higgins said: "We want to reach as many people as possible to make sure that they have a good time over Christmas and New Year, and enjoy the whole festive experience.
"By getting our safety message across by using the latest technology, and the more traditional methods like posters and radio adverts, we hope to encourage people to plan ahead for their nights out and show that by taking a few simple steps, they can stay safe and remember their time for all the right reasons."
