An adult from the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health Board has died with swine flu.
The patient’s death brings the Scottish total of H1N1 deaths to 41. The deceased had an underlying health condition.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "I send my condolences to the patient's loved ones at this tragic time.
"Fortunately it is a mild illness for most, but people with underlying health conditions are at greater risk of complications.
"We are vaccinating people within the priority groups as soon as vaccines arrive in the country. We now have over 70% of all the supplies we need to vaccinate the priority groups, and that total is increasing on a weekly basis.
"We remain firmly on track to have offered the vaccine to everybody in the first phase of the priority groups by Christmas."
The Scottish Government have said that if you are concerned about flu-like symptoms contact your GP for advice or call NHS 24 on 08454 24 24 24.
Further information on the vaccine programme is available via the Scottish Swine Flu Vaccination Helpline on 08000 28 28 16.
