Attacker cut 80-year-old man's hand

Police are hunting a man who cut an 80-year-old man's hand in an attack on the pensioner's doorstep in Dundee.

At around 5.45pm on Tuesday November 24, a man - believed to be in his mid 30's - assaulted the 80-year-old at the home he shares with his elderly wife in the city's West School Road.

The assailant then cut the man's hand - although police are unable to say whether or not a knife was used.

Tha man was then seen running off in the direction of Charlotte Street.

The attacker is described as being white, approximately 5'10" tall, of stocky build and dressed in dark clothing and wearing a dark coloured balaclava.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: "We are keen to trace anyone who may have been in the area and saw anyone acting suspiciously or who may have information relating to the incident.

"Anyone with information can contact Tayside police directly on 0300 111 2222 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111."
