A Dundee man has been arrested on drugs charges during a joint operation between officers from Tayside Police and their colleagues from Merseyside.
The 41-year-old man, from the Maryfield area of the city, is now in custody in Merseyside after a total of 17 arrest warrants were executed as part of an on-going joint operation.
During the course of the joint operation class A drugs with a street value of over £52,000 have been recovered in the Tayside area and five people have previously been arrested.
All those arrested on Tuesday are now being questioned by detectives.
Detective Inspector Stuart Holmes, Head of Tayside Police’s Drugs Branch, said: "This joint operation is clear evidence of the work we do in partnership with other police forces in the UK.
"The drug dealers and those involved in serious organised crime do not recognise local or national boundaries and it is vital that police forces do likewise in our efforts to reduce the supply of illegal drugs into all our communities.
"I would appeal to people not to tolerate the dealing of drugs in their area. Contact the police and we will take action.
"Where we have intelligence and information concerning criminal drugs activity we will act because we are acutely aware of the devastating effect that drugs can and do have on the lives of people living within our communities.
