Susan Boyle's debut album went on sale on Monday - having already reached the record books.
The singer from West Lothian was in New York to launch I Dreamed a Dream, which is expected to go straight to number one in the USA, Canada and the UK.
She performed live at the Rockefeller Centre and appeared on The Today Show, America's premier breakfast TV programme.
Crowds also surged to album outlets near Susan's home in Blackburn, with one local supermarket selling two thirds of its stock by midday.
Fans were delighted with the album's sleeve notes, which record Subo's personal affinity with each track.
In her notes, she dedicates the release to her late mother Bridget who died in 2007.
Her tribute reads: "I would like to dedicate this album to me beloved mother, to whom I made a promise to 'be someone'. God bless. x"
I Dreamed a Dream has already broken one world record, becoming the most pre-ordered album of all time on web retail site Amazon.
Some bookmakers have stopped taking bets on it selling more than a million copies by Christmas. And William Hill is offering odds of just 1/1 that Subo will go platinum in less than four weeks.
The 48-year-old covered the Rolling Stones hit Wild Horses on the X Factor results show on Sunday. Her appearance had been pre-recorded to allow her to travel to the United States for her album launch.
On the programme, she described her rise to fame since appearing on Britain's Got Talent as "bloody fantastic".
Her first audition for the TV talent show remains the most watched video clip on YouTube. More than 300 million people have logged on to see her shock the judges with a note perfect rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from musical Les Miserables.
Now, experts are predicting she will head straight to the top of the album chart and remain there into the new year.
