Susan Boyle heads for the record books with album launch

Susan Boyle's debut album goes on sale today - having already reached the record books.

It has already broken one world record, becoming the most pre-ordered album of all time on web retail site Amazon.

Some bookmakers have stopped taking bets on her selling more than a million copies by Christmas. And William Hill is offering odds of just 1/1 that Subo will go platinum in less than four weeks.

The 48-year-old from Blackburn covered the Rolling Stones hit Wild Horses on the X Factor results show on Sunday. Her appearance had been pre-recorded to allow her to travel to the United States for her album launch.

On the programme, she described her rise to fame since appearing on Britain's Got Talent as "bloody fantastic".

Her first audition for the TV talent show remains the most watched video clip on YouTube. More than 300 million people have logged on to see her shock the judges with a note perfect rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from musical Les Miserables.

Now, experts are predicting she will head straight to the top of the album chart and remain there into the new year.
