A police probe is under way after the body of a pensioner was found in a house in Edinburgh.
A concerned council worker called police in after being unable to contact the man or gain access to his property in Clermiston's Parkgrove Terrace.
Officers uncovered the 70-year-old's body yesterday and are now trying to establish how long he had lain dead in his home.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A police spokesperson said investigations were continuing at the property.
She added: "At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained, with enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man's death at a very early stage."
