Strathclyde Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a pharmacy in Hamilton.
Around 7.20pm on Tuesday evening, a man entered Boots Pharmacy in Low Waters Road, near to Portland Place in Hamilton armed with what appeared to be a firearm.
He threatened the female member of staff and demanded money, before fleeing from the premises with a three figure sum.
On Tuesday night, police continued a search of the area for clues.
The suspect is described as a white male, between five feet nine inches and six feet and of slim build. He was wearing white or cream hooded top and blue denims.
Detective Sergeant Norman Laurie said: "This was a frightening experience for the young woman, who thankfully hasn't been injured, although she is naturally extremely shaken.
"At this time, we are looking at the possibility of this robbery being linked to another on Sunday evening at the premises of Video Drive In at Quarry Street, Hamilton. This is obviously a concern to us, and we are determined to trace the man responsible.
"It is early stages of the enquiry and we have officers searching the area in an effort to trace the suspect. I would however urge members of the public who saw anyone behaving in a suspicious manner this evening to contact us."
Any person with information is asked to contact the CID at Hamilton on telephone number 01698 483300 or alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
