The SNP's candidate in the Glasgow North East by-election has been accused of dirty tricks for changing details of his birth to suit local campaigns.
David Kerr, pictured above, claims in leaflets to have "started life" in Dennistoun, Glasgow. However, in the Falkirk West by-election in 2000, he told voters he was "born and educated" in Cumbernauld.
The SNP candidate is described in recent by-election leaflets as "Dennistoun-born David" who started life at 290 Duke Street.
Quotes from Mr Kerr in the leaflet add that he's "originally from the area".
The SNP website says Mr Kerr, a former BBC presenter, was born in Glasgow in 1973 and spent his early years in Dennistoun before moving to Condorrat near Cumbernauld.
Labour candidate Willie Bain said on Monday: "This is the kind of two-faced politics that turns people off. If the SNP man is prepared to lie about where he was born, what else is he prepared to lie about?
"I make no secret of where I'm from. I was born in Stobhill Hospital, I live nearby and I'm proud of my area.
"Mr Kerr pretends to be local, even though he lives on the southside. But when he stood in Falkirk he pretended to be from somewhere else. That's dirty electioneering."
SNP campaign manager Stewart Hosie MP said: "Labour's failing campaign has hit the panic button. This is utter desperation from Labour and shows they must be truly panicked as the SNP closes the gap on Labour in Glasgow North East.
"There are real issues in this by-election such as Labour's decision to close five schools in the constituency, the fact that unemployment in Glasgow North East is higher under Labour than it was in the dark days of the Tory Government and the neglect this area has suffered under 74 years of Labour domination.
"Instead of offering a positive future for local people Labour are reduced to this."
