Two hurt in school bus crash

Two people have been seriously injured following a serious crash between a school bus and an articulated lorry near Arbroath.

The 25-year-old male driver of the lorry suffered a serious ankle injury while the 34-year-old female driver of the Mercedes minibus suffered pelvic and head injuries.

There were no children aboard the minibus at the time of the crash.

The accident occured on the B961 Redford to Legaston road around a mile from the South Conon crossroads at around 9.05am on Monday morning.

Emergency services, including a trauma team, rushed to the scene of the crash and closed the immediate area from traffic.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: "The collision involves a white minibus and an articulated lorry.

"Emergency services are in attendance and the immediate area has been closed off while they tend to injured persons.

"A man has a possible broken ankle and a woman has head and pelvic injuries.

"Their injuries are not at this stage believed to be life threatening."
