Emergency crews battled a house fire in Dunbar for more than three hours.
Police were called in to control the crowds outside the home in the town's Summerfield Road after if went up in flames shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The fire started in the kitchen of one home, but quickly spread through the building and into a neighbouring property.
A Red Cross team were called in and an 82-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation.
No-one else was injured in the blaze, which was eventually extinguished by crews using three hose vehicles.
