Cyclist suffers broken back and neck in crash

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist suffered a broken back and neck in a horror road smash close to Perth.

The 46-year-old man was cycling on the A912 Perth to Gateside road near Bridge of Earn when the incident occured.

He was then involved in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta car.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and he was conveyed by ambulance to Dundee's Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

X-rays revealed he had suffered a broken back and neck.

The accident occured at around 7.20am on Wednesday morning.

Tayside Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

A force spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision take place should get in touch with Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222."
