Police on Sunday named a teenage girl killed after her car collided with a lamppost in Clydebank.

Jennifer Munn, 19, from Hardgate, Clydebank, was driving her blue Vauxhall Corsa along the town's Great Western Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At around 3.15am, as she approached the West Park Hotel, the car suddenly went out of control and collided with a lamppost and a hospital sign.

Jennifer died at the scene, while her two male passengers, aged 18 and 21, sustained minor injuries.

Sergeant Derek Wanless, of Dumbarton Traffic Department, is appealing for witnesses to the crash.

A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "He can be contacted on 01389 822000."
