A man who went missing after being seen jumping into a river near Loch Ness has been named by police.
Laurence Parrott, 17, from Errogie near Inverness was last seen diving into the River Foyers, close to Lower Foyers village, shortly before 5pm on Sunday.
After he failed to re-emerge, police and search parties scoured the area but failed to find any trace of him.
The search resumed for the Mr Parrott at 9am but as yet has proved unsuccessful.
Laurence attended Inverness Royal Academy, where he excelled in music and played drums in a band called The Soundtrack.
Mr and Mrs Parrott issued a statement through police on behalf of the family.
It read: "Our whole family is devastated at the loss of our son.
"Laurence was full of life and was very determined, excelling at everything he put his mind to.
"We cannot put into words the loss that we feel and would ask that our family be left alone to grieve in peace."
