A bank worker has admitted sexually grooming an eight-year-old boy after befriending him on games website X-box Live.

At the High Court in Glasgow, 22-year-old David Graham admitted sexually abusing one young boy and grooming two others.

Prosecutor Andrew Miller said that Graham, who also admitted downloading thousands of vile images of children, was caught after paying by credit card to subscribe to a website dealing in child exploitation.

Graham, who worked as a customer services representative with the Royal Bank of Scotland, was snared after police raided his Airdrie home on February 20, last year.

Mr Miller said: "Officers recovered computer equipment used by the accused on which a large number of indecent still and moving images of children were recovered along with evidence that he had downloaded images from the internet and exchanged images with others.

"When interviewed by police Graham admitted having sexually abused a child and having taken steps to groom two other children with the intention of sexually abusing them."

Graham admitted abusing a boy aged between seven and nine in Airdrie between November 2001 and December 2004.

He also pleaded guilty to meeting an eight-year-old boy on the internet between October and December 2005 and visiting him at his Leicestershire home with the intention of sexually abusing him.

Graham also admitted grooming another boy in Airdrie between February 2006 and 2009 with the intention of sexually abusing him.
He also admitted downloading and distributing horrific images of sexual abuse on children.

Defence counsel Frances Connor said: "When he was arrested he gave a full and frank account of his activities."

Judge Lord Brodie deferred sentence on Graham until next month for background reports and remanded him in custody.
