A man has died after being found collapsed in a city park, police said.
The 27-year-old died on Sunday at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after he was found in the city's Balgreen Park on Friday.
Police are trying to piece together his movements before he was found in the park to try to find out what happened to him.
They are keen to speak to two people who went to help the man, who had left his home in the area of Whitson Terrace at about 11.15am to walk his dog.
Detective Inspector Gordon McCreadie said: "Sadly the man has passed away in hospital this morning. We continue to appeal for people to come forward to help us piece together his movements prior to him being found in the park.
"We want to build a picture of where he went, whom he saw and generally what he was doing between the time he left home and was found close to the skate park in Balgreen Park around noon.
"The park should have been busy at the time and as there is no apparent reason for him to collapse we hope someone can remember seeing him and can help us find out what happened to him.
"We are also keen to speak to a man and a teenage girl who were dog walking and may have gone to his assistance. They left before we could talk to them and they may have vital information."
The dead man is described as white, about 6ft tall, of slim build with short shaved hair. He was wearing a grey Nike hooded top, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black/white Adidas trainers.
One of the dog walkers was a man in his 40s with dark greying hair who was wearing a yellow Brazil football top. He had a shar pei dog.
He may have been in the company of a girl aged between 10 and 14 who was wearing pink shorts and a multi-coloured top. She was walking a Yorkshire terrier.
