The keyboard player with Wet Wet Wet has been charged with attacking a woman.
Neil Mitchell, 44, from Glasgow, appeared at West London Magistrates' Court accused of assaulting Olivia Warren, and causing her actual bodily harm.
The court heard that he had indicated a plea of not guilty and District Judge Susan Williams remanded him to appear at the same court on September 10.
She imposed conditions of bail that he must not contact Miss Warren either directly or indirectly, and not enter a particular road in south west London.
Mitchell declined to comment as he left the court.
