A 25-year-old man suffered injuries to his face and hands after being seriously assaulted.

The victim was walking on Mill Road in Hamilton at 8.30pm on Thursday, July 12, when two men jumped out of a blue Renault Megane and attacked him.

Both suspects are described as between 25 and 35 years of age with short brown hair and of a medium build.

The first suspect is 5ft 6ins tall and the second between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in. One was wearing a grey tracksuit.

After the assault, the men drove off.

Police are keen to speak to the driver of a silver coloured taxi which may have been parked nearby.

The victim attended hospital to have his injuries treated but was later discharged, although shaken by the incident.
